Cell name defining

Definition

You can name a cell or a range a specific name. When you want to refer to that cell or range in a formula you can use that name instead of selecting the cells again.

Example

If we have a simple sum formula from a1:a3 it would look like follows:

cell name devine3

We can rather name cell a1:a3 something, for example “test”. Select the range and right click on it. Go to “name a range”. The following will show:

cell name devine2

Just name the range “test” and click ok.

We can change our sum formula to the following:

cell name devine1
