Breaking LinksConceptSometimes you get a file from people, with external links to sheets. You can break this links, to show no formula and only show the amounts. Where to find thisGo to the data tab and click on “Edit links”. If it is grey, there is no links in the sheet.
Click on edit link, to remove the link. If the sheets are protected, you will not be able to break the links. This can also be used very effectively when you have a huge spreadsheet with a lot of formulas, and you have to email this to someone. The current sheet may be too big to email. Keep the current report and select all the other sheets. Right click on the sheets and click on move or copy Move the sheets to another book. Then go back to your report, and break the links. Remember you moved this to another sheet, so the formulas will all be links now, so you can break the links. Also remember to first make a copy of the file, before doing this, otherwise your original may be messed up. <-----Back to index Next topic----->
