Logical tests

A logical test is a test you can perform to get an answer of either true or false. For example if you ask "Is the door red?". The answer can only be yes (true) or no (false). This same prinsiple is used in excel.

With a result of true or false you can use the if formula to peform other functions.

In its simplest form a logical test formula will look like follows:

=a1=1. This will test if cell a1 is equal to 1. If it is 1 then then answer will be true, otherwise it will be false.
